What is Kintsu and Canton Network?

Kintsu is a protocol that did not start life as a credit platform. It launched as a liquid staking protocol focused on yield-bearing tokens.

Private Beta Launch

The private beta on Canton Network went live around October 8-9, 2026. Access is invitation-only, which fits the network it is built on.

Key Features

The beta centers on Canton Coin, or CC, the network's native crypto asset. CC plays two roles here: it serves as collateral, and it can be staked for yield.

Variable-Rate Lending Markets

Participants can supply USDC to lending markets. Borrowers can then take loans against CC collateral. Testers can also submit CC staking requests through the Canton testnet.

Staking Requests

Staking requests go through the testnet, and key market and vault features are still pending.

Upcoming Features

Not everything is switched on yet. Kintsu has said its market and vault features are expected soon. Curated vaults are among the pieces still coming.

Privacy-Preserving Composability

The private beta is designed as a step toward private mainnet access. Kintsu is framing the whole effort around what it calls privacy-preserving composability.

Background

Kintsu did not start life as a credit platform. It launched as a liquid staking protocol focused on yield-bearing tokens.

Testnet Launch

In July 2026, Kintsu ran a testnet launch with isolated lending markets. Those markets used native collateral and accrued interest through native settlement.

Integration with Canton Credit

In August 2026, Kintsu integrated Cenote's Canton credit platform into Kintsu Capital Markets. That folded an existing Canton-native credit product into Kintsu's own stack.

Preview of Testnet Version

A preview of the testnet version followed in late September 2026. The invitation-only beta arrived shortly after, in early October.

Background on Canton Network

Canton Network itself was engineered by Digital Asset. It is built for multi-party financial workflows and tokenized assets, with an emphasis on privacy.

What this Means

Public blockchains broadcast positions, balances, and liquidation levels to anyone who looks. Canton's design aims to let financial firms transact without that exposure, and Kintsu is building credit tools on top of it.

Broader Momentum

The timing also lines up with broader momentum on Canton. DTCC has plans for launching tokenized Treasuries on the network in October 2026.

Caveats

There are real caveats. This is a private beta running partly on testnet. Staking requests go through the testnet, and key market and vault features are still pending.
