Koch Invests in Emanate's AI-Powered Sales Platform for Industrial Sector

What Emanate Actually Does

Emanate builds AI revenue agents aimed at the industrial materials and distribution sector. Think of them as digital sales staff that handle the paperwork-heavy parts of selling steel, chemicals, components and similar goods.

The Company's Target Market

The addressable market is not small. Emanate is going after an industry valued at approximately $5 trillion, a sector that has mostly watched the AI boom from the sidelines.

Early Backers and Investment

A young company with a well-known roster Emanate was founded in 2025 by Kiara Nirghin, a Thiel Fellow and Stanford AI researcher. The company came out of stealth in February 2026. It arrived with a recognizable group of early backers. Andreessen Horowitz's American Dynamism fund invested, as did Peter Thiel and Alexis Ohanian. Now Koch joins the list. Koch Disruptive Technologies was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Wichita, Kansas. KDT has been active this year. Its 2026 deals include a $200M Series D in Gatik in August 2026, a sign the firm is writing sizable checks into companies that touch physical industry.

What This Means for Industrial AI

The deal points to a broader shift in where AI money is heading. After a wave of horizontal tools built for everyone, investors are increasingly backing vertical AI products built for one industry and its specific headaches.

Pricing errors also carry consequences in this sector. A bad number on a large materials order is not a minor bug, so accuracy and trust will decide whether tools like Emanate's stick.
