Monad Shifts Focus to Quantum Security and Institutional Privacy

Key Summary

Monad, a blockchain network, is focusing on quantum security and institutional privacy with the launch of two roadmaps, one for post-quantum roadmap and another for Monad Private Settlement. The network aims to provide confidentiality without fragmenting liquidity or spinning up separate private chains.

Roadmap to Quantum Security

Monad wants to be the blockchain that institutions trust today and that quantum computers can't crack tomorrow. The EVM-compatible Layer 1 plans to concentrate on two themes: quantum security and institutional privacy.

Roadmap to Quantum Security

The first piece landed on September 28, 2026, when Monad published a post-quantum roadmap. Its opening step is upgradeable account authentication. Account authentication is the system that proves you're the rightful owner of a wallet. Making it upgradeable means the network can swap in stronger signature methods later without tearing up the foundations.

Monad Private Settlement

The second piece arrived on October 6, 2026. Category Labs introduced a design called Monad Private Settlement. The concept creates encrypted execution domains on top of the public Layer 1. Transactions, state, and code inside those domains are meant to stay confidential. Yet they can still settle into shared liquidity pools.

Institutional Compliance

The design also allows for configurable validators and scoped auditor access. Those two features are aimed squarely at institutional compliance and regulatory requirements. An auditor can be given a window into specific activity without the whole world getting the same view.

What This Means for Monad and Its Rivals

For investors and traders, the key point is that both initiatives remain roadmaps and designs rather than finished products. Upgradeable authentication is described as a first step. Private Settlement is a design introduced by Category Labs.

What to Watch Next

Whether Category Labs moves Private Settlement from design toward deployment, how the post-quantum work extends to consensus and validators, and whether Monad's TVL and validator count grow as these features take shape.
