TRON Dominates Stablecoin Card Spending with 23% Market Share

Introduction

TRON has emerged as a leading player in the stablecoin card market, capturing 23% of the total volume in Q3 2026. The network processed approximately $998 million in card transactions, according to data from CryptoRank and Paymentscan.

Market Share

The total stablecoin card volume rose 33% from $3.24 billion in Q2 to $4.31 billion in Q3. TRON led the pack with its roughly $998 million, followed by Base at around $636 million, and BNB Chain with about $469 million.

Growth Drivers

The research attributes the growth to continued expansion in stablecoin card usage, notably USDT and USDC, amid persistent market volatility since 2024. TRON's position as a pivotal liquidity and settlement layer for USDT makes it a natural choice for card programs built around that token.

Competition

Base and BNB Chain still outpaced TRON's volume, but the network's lead is solid. The wildcard worth watching is Plasma, a network backed by Tether, the issuer of USDT, which posted roughly 250% quarterly growth.

Limitations

Card volume is a single slice of stablecoin activity, and quarterly figures can swing with new product launches, promotions, or shifts in which issuers report through data providers.
